The tea inspires by its variety and impresses us with its history and tradition. The first reference of tea was documented in Chinese literature well over 2700 years B.C. 4000 years later, into the 16th century, the tea was brought into European culture. The first tea trade was overland via the old trade routes or caravan roads from the Far East to Russia and later by sea.

Althaus represents the best selection from a variety of teas which appeared in the world in the last 400 years.

The deli pack was developed for the classical portioned cup (0.2L). The high quality, 3 layer foils provides for an optimal flavour enhancement and projects from the outside elements, maintaining the freshness of each cup so that the intensity and purity can be enjoyed.

Grand Pack

Proportions of loose tea for brewing a classic tea pot (0.4L) are found in our Grand Pack. The packaging of the broken leaves is packaged in water permeable tea bags allowing the leaves to release their full flavour.

Loose Tea

Over 80 sorts of premium quality teas are at your disposal. Following the tea house tradition, Althaus teas are very rich, well rounded with a slight sweet nuance. The selection varies from the classical teas such as “English Breakfast St. Andrews” up to the particular rare teas, sold in smaller quantities; “Milk Oolong” or “ Yunan Jin Huang”. Other unusual bold flavours such as “Mountain Herbs” and “Fleur du Mond” in our opinion are some of the best in the collection..

Added ingredients; blooms and pieces of fruits are just as carefully selected and controlled as each of our tea leaves. This is guaranteed by Althaus and certified tea production factory in Germany.

All our teas are blended, aromatised and packaged according to our specifications in our facilities in Germany. All loose tea is package in our unique 250g tin sized containers and all tea is wrapped in foil bags of equal size. Due to the volume, the weights will vary from 65 g to 250g depending on the blend of tea.
